Georgia Mae Reynolds

March 5, 1926 — December 10, 2015

Georgia M. Reynolds, 89 passed away peacefully at home with daughter Jan by her side on December 10th, 2015.

Georgia was born March 5th, 1926 in Cordele, Georgia to F. Clayton and Ann Davis. They resided in lots of places going from Georgia to Michigan and Wisconsin. She was the oldest of six Davis siblings. They came to Idaho during the great depression, while headed for the Oregon coast, but settled in Salmon Idaho, where she grew up. Her father was a miner and she spent summers living on the river and creeks where he mined for gold. She worked hard at a young age helping with the mining and looking out for her brothers and sister.

She married young and gave birth to a son, George. She later divorced and raised him as a single mom. Then in 1956 she married Elden (Steve) Reynolds and they raised a son Kelly and two daughters, Gay and Jan. They lived in Malad and Vernal, Utah and finally they settled in Pocatello in 1965.

She worked several different jobs, the old Bannock Hotel as a maid, Lamb Weston, and The Whitman Hotel for several years. She loved to fish, go camping and to take road trips. She often said she would have liked to have ridden a motorcycle across the country. She loved to paint and do needle craft and crochet. She also made lovely quilts with her sister.

She was "Mom" to everyone and was always taking in and helping out friends if they needed a helping hand. She was always there if we needed anything. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren even though some were clear across the country she always thought of them and worried that they were alright.

She worked hard her whole life and always had so many funny and interesting stories of her life when she was young and how they came to travel across the country to Salmon during the Great Depression and the years growing up there, the kids of a hard rock miner. She remembered everything and everyone and her stories will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Elenora, brothers Bob and Ray and half- brother Danny Coles, her husband Elden (Steve), and son George Pritchett and a baby daughter.

She is survived by her son Kelly and his sons Bobby and Clint, daughters Gay and Jan and her children Forrest Savard and Anna Savard, 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren who will miss her dearly.

As per her wishes she will be cremated and a celebration of her life will be held in the spring.
