George L. Mcconnell

George L. McConnell, 84, passed away August 22, 2018. He was born June 17, 1934 to George L. McConnell, Sr. and Mary Edna Bailey in Washington D.C. George married Laura Jane Kepner July 26, 1958.

George lived for over 50 years in Silver Spring, MD and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

George retired as a Captain for the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Dept. after serving 22 years. After retirement he also worked as a Statistical Analyst with the Washington Metro Transit Authority.

George is survived by his daughter, Cassie J. McConnell Fish (Leonard) and son, G. Steven McConnell (Maureen) with 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 29th 2018 at the Quincy Cemetery in Quincy, Pennsylvania. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the Kensington Ward Chapel at 10000 Soneybrook Drive in Kensington, Maryland.
