Genieveve (Jennie) Phillips, 95, was called home to the house of the Lord on June 21, 2010. Jennie was born on January 16, 1915 in Howell, Utah,to Nephi and Barbara Nessen. She was the 11th child of 12. She was married to her second husband William B. Phillips in 1952 in Elko, Nevada. Jennie and her husband were long time residents of Pocatello. They resided on Franklin before moving to the Indian Hills area. Jennie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She attended the Indian Hills Ward in the Pocatello Stake. After her husband Bill passed away, Jennie divided her time and lived with her daughter Michele, and her sons Ven and Derek. She enjoyed frequent visits with her son Tony. She travelled extensively between California, Washington and Oregon, which enabled her to see all her children and grand children. Jennie is survived by her two sons Derek (Janice)Alix, Coquille, OR; Anthony Tony (Nancy) Alix, Seattle,WA; daughter-in-law Carola Alix, Seattle, WA: and son-in-law Stephen Boswell, Pocatello,ID. 13 grandchildren, 21 great- grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren. Jennie enjoyed gardening, cooking,and quilting,and she shared all these talents with her family. Family was everything to her all her life. And all her life she was surrounded by a loving family. Not just here on earth, but now with her husband Bill, her son Ven, daughter Michele and grand daughter Venna, which preceded her in death. She will be dearly missed. Funeral service will be July 9th, 2010, at the Indian Hills LDS Ward Chapel, located at 5425 Bannock Highway, Pocatello, Idaho. Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the services at the church. Bishop Justin Johnson will be officiating. Grave side service will be held at Restlawn Memorial Gardens following the service.
