Genevieve Wright Macbeth passed away peacefully at a local assisted living center on the morning of March 11, 2016. She has finally been reunited with her loved ones that have gone before her. Genevieve was born on October 22, 1919 to Oliver and Lillias Speirs Wright in Bennington, Idaho. She graduated from Montpelier High School and Henagar Business College in Ogden, Utah.
She met Don Macbeth in Pocatello, Idaho just before he was to be shipped off to war. She said that it was love at first sight. Genevieve Wright and Donald Seaton Macbeth were married in Logan, Utah on June 17, 1941. Don served in the military during WWII for the first 4 years of their marriage; while he was gone Genevieve worked at the Pocatello Air Base, Douglas Air Craft in Santa Monica, California, and Federal Reserve Bank in Salt Lake City. They were blessed to have three children, Win, Stephen, and Kathleen. On April 5, 1958 their family was sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple.
She was a very talented person. She loved to sew, cook, crochet, make quilts and do needle work. She has created many beautiful works of art. Everything that she did was the very best. She loved to read and had a constant thirst for knowledge. She was a natural teacher and had the ability to teach others easily. She was an excellent grandmother and great grandmother and always wanted to know what her family members where doing and be a part of their lives. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many positions on both the ward level and the stake level. She belonged to the DUP (Daughters of the Utah Pioneers) for over 50 years. Genevieve loved this organization and its work. Don and Genevieve celebrated 72 years together before Don passed away.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Lillias Wright, a brother and sister who died in infancy, Glenn and Mary Fern Wright, her brother Lamar Wright, her husband Donald Seaton Macbeth and 4 grandchildren, Matthew Macbeth, Jennifer Macbeth, Jonathan Macbeth and Wess Macbeth. She is survived by her brother Lee Wright of Montpelier, Idaho, sister Kathleen Cochran of Logan, Utah, her children Winfield Arthur & (Ginny) Macbeth of Pocatello, Idaho, Stephen Donald & (Laura) Macbeth of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Kathleen & (Jeff) Hall of Blackfoot, Idaho, along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
