Genevieve Castona

May 23, 1933 — November 9, 2021

Gen M Castona (GgGen), 88, passed away on November 9,2021.

She was born May 23, 1933 to Karl and Mary Meyer in Marshfield, Wisconsin. She was the oldest of 6 children.

She married her soulmate, Mose Castona, on April 14, 1952. Together they had 6 children. They were married 63 years before Mose Castona passed away.

They loved dancing and memorized the dance floor.

Gen lived in Wisconsin until 1974 when they moved to Idaho. They lived in 2 other states.
She always had a passion for Art and was an accomplished artist (oil painting). Her paintings have such a realistic texture to them. Mom painted President Clinton and sent it to him. She received a "Thank you note," and Christmas cards from him and other Presidents for several years.

When she moved to Idaho she also took up golfing and skiing. In the summer they golfed and in the winter they went skiing. She skied until she was 67 years old. They went on ski trips every year to Big Sky, Montana. She did a lot of traveling.

She always had such a bubbly personality and was the life of the party with her smile, laughter, and quick wit for words. She was loving and caring to all of us. Mom touched the hearts of all of us that knew her. She loved to give hugs and receiving them. You didn't walk past GgGen without a hug. Mom got a lot of enjoyment from watching her grandchildren participate in football, dance competitions, and rodeos.

Mom was an animal lover and had many dogs over the years. The last few years she had her cat, Sweetheart Kelly, that was her companion and she loved talking about her.
Even in the end she still loved, laughed, shared memories and hugs.

She is survived by her children Randal Castona (Leona), Oakley, Utah, Pete Malvasio (Wendy's surviving spouse), DeSoto, Wisconsin, Robert Ahlin ( Colleen's surviving spouse), Missoula, Montana, Duane (Ann) Castona, South Barre, Massachusetts, Monique (Dean) Jones, Pocatello, Idaho, Shawn (Bea) Castona, Montello, Nevada, her sister Mary Larsen, Sahaurita, Arizona, her brother Dennis (Bernice) Meyer, Westfield, Ohio, her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, greatgg grandchildren, greatgg grandson and many nieces and a nephew.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, a brother, her daughter Wendy Malvasio and Colleen Ahlin, two grandsons Joshua Ahlin and Timothy Boeher, a great grandson Duncan Crutcher.

All of us have fond memories of the great times we had together which will hold a special place in our hearts. She will be missed. And I'm sure she is in heaven dancing with our dad to the song Crazy.

As per her request, no services will be held and she will be cremated.

We wish to thank Encompass Hospice and Encompass Homehealth for all the care for Mom and us too. And Malina from Home Helper for her care of my mom.

Memories and condolences may be shared with the family under the "Tribute Wall" tab above.
