Genevieve Asolo, 48, passed away from Covid 19 on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at a local medical center.
Genevieve was born in Dutch, Missouri. She attended Brea Mission grade school then graduated from Bloomfield High School and went on to San Juan College.
Her enjoyment of traveling led her to her SO, Yates Hasuse, and they enjoyed their time with family gatherings and Native American events. Genevieve loved helping people and she became a Fort Hall firefighter and part time EMT. She also was a security officer and later, a more causal job, a housekeeper/supervisor.
Genevieve was a loving and caring person. She helped raised her 4 nieces, Meena, Paloma, Belen and Yoolgnai, who Genevieve named her at birth; and one nephew, Valentino Flores; as well as her niece from New Mexico, Shai-Dawn Belesto.
She survived by her parents, Sharon & Jerry Yazzie; her siblings, Gerald, Vernon, Cindy and Tamera and Yates Hasuse. She is preceded in death by her grandpa, Jose Garcia; her uncle, Eddy Garcia; and grandparents, Richard & Martha Slyvester.
A viewing will be held on Friday, October 9, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, ID, with funeral services starting at 12 Noon. Following the services, she will then be laid to rest at the Ross Fork Family Cemetery at 2:00 P.M.
