Gary "Chip" Duncan Jr

POCATELLO - Gary "Chip" Leon Duncan Jr., 51, of Pocatello, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2012. He was born on January 11, 1961, to Gary and Myrna Duncan. Chip lived in Pocatello his entire life and obtained a high school diploma in 1990. He played little league as a young boy and as an adult he played Beep Ball (baseball for the blind). In 1989 Chip met Cheryl A. Mayer. They were married on October 24, 1993, in Pocatello. Chip had a long history of working in food service and also owned a vending machine business through Commission for the Blind. He was president of the ADA Board and previously served on other boards. Chip was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed radio trivia, cards, games, music, hanging out with friends, and telling jokes. He is survived by his wife Cheryl Duncan; son Scott Mayer of San Diego, CA but currently serving in Afghanistan; daughter, Rose Mueller of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Jennifer Hill of Pocatello; sister, Wendy (Ron) Hellstern of Logan, UT; sister, Marla (John) Moreland of Rexburg, ID; sister, C. Kym (Bill) Branson of Pocatello; and 4 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his grandparents; parents, Myrna and Gary Duncan; daughter, Mandy Kay Duncan; and sister, Shannon Duncan. A memorial service will be held for Chip 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave. Inurnment will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 10, 2012, at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
