Galen J. Smith

Galen Joe Smith, 61, passed away Friday, October 24, 2014 at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, ID. Galen was born on March 15, 1953, in Boise Idaho. He was the second of four children born to Charles Joseph Smith and Vida Jean Wallace Smith. He attended Lincoln Elementary, Hawthorne Junior High and Highland High School. He took auto body at ISU Vo-Tech. He worked at Bridger Auto Body, Glens Chevrolet, and J & J Auto Body. He was a master of his trade. Galen belonged to the Rod & Gun Club, N.R.A., and was a Ham Radio Operator. His call sign was KC7GZD. He was a Christian belonging to the First Baptist Church. Galen Loved to fix or repair appliances, fix radios, reload shells and to help people out. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to camp. Galen is survived by his daughter, Kodi (Jeremy) Doty, Tacoma, WA; mother, Vida Smith, Boise, ID; two brothers, Steve (Debbie) Smith, Boise, ID, Clayton Smith, San Diego, CA; sister, Tana Smith, Pocatello, ID; granddaughter, Kylee Doty, and grandson, Trevor Doty. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Joseph Smith. T here will be a memorial gathering on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Relyea Funeral Chapel, 318 N.
