Gail H. Buchanan

March 26, 1936 — October 28, 2012

Gail Hone Buchanan, 76, peacefully passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family.

“A boy was born on a farm to George Euette and Dortha Hone Buchanan at Pingree, Idaho in 1936. I attended grade school in Moreland, Idaho and Ontario, Oregon; and high school in Blackfoot and Pocatello.
Being the youngest of 10 children, I am survived only by a sister, Myrtle Perrin, Oregon. My preceding siblings: Beulah Belnap, Loa Dance, Melva, Vernial, Harold, Rex, Alvin and Clinton Buchanan.

However, while in a typing class at Poky High; a cute girl caught the eye of this boy. Lois Williams and I were married in 1953. And to this union were born a son, George Bradley (Pam) Buchanan, Wenatchee, Washington, and a daughter, Trudi Gail (Jim) Morphey, Pocatello, Idaho. We are also blessed with a grandson, Jake (Jen) Morphey and their daughter Kalli Ann; and had three brief weeks to enjoy a grandson, Skyler Buchanan before SIDS took him from us.
To my loving wife, Loey, who has shared 59 wonderful years and forgiven much. She is a sharing partner in our lives and our businesses. Both of us retired from ISU in 1996 on the very same day.

Life credits include: our children, a 4 year apprenticeship and working as a carpenter, owning a cabinet shop business, ISU Maintenance and operations supervisor, home inspection business, retired from the National Guard and Air Force Reserve after 24 years service.

Life has been good, eating out with family and friends. Enjoyed traveling in the 5th wheel, boating, water skiing, camping with family, and Jackpot of course; our homes that we owned and remodeled, plus retirement for the last 16 years. Over the many years we have sure had wonderful neighbors and some precious friends.

I extend a special thanks to the respiratory guys at Maag Drug for their help and congenial attitude.”
