Fred Beck, 75, passed away November 15, 2010, in Concord, California. He was born in Chelsea, Oklahoma to Ellis Elijah beck and Lillian Lucile Bishop. The family moved to the San Jose, CA area when Fred was a small boy. He served in the United States Air Force stationed at Wiesbaden, Germany. While there he met and married Crista Diegel. They were later divorced. Fred graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. degree in education. He taught in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District for 28 years. The first half of his career was spent at Monte Gardens Elementary in Concord, CA and the latter half at Riverview Middle School in Bay Point, CA. He married Marge Lee Jensen in Feb. 15, 1974 in Lafayette, CA. They were sealed in the Oakland Temple on Nov. 24, 1976. Fred was a loving and caring father to Marga Lee's two daughters, Lisa and Holly. Fred enjoyed horseback riding, reading, gardening and using the computer to pursue family history work. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in numerous capacities. He also served as an ordinance worker in the Oakland Temple. He is survived by his wife, Marga Lee, Concord, daughters, Lisa Neibaur (Mitch) of Harrisville, Utah, Holly Burrill (Jeff) of Danville, CA. Grandchildren Briana & Shannon Lowry and Andrew, Kaylee & Jared Burrill. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings: Leon and Leo Beck (twins), sister Erskine (Cooper), brother Junior Ellis Beck, sister Norma (Cody). Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1590 Denkinger, Rd, Concord, CA. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Under the direction of Moore's Mission Funeral Home in Concord, CA. Interment will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Pocatello, Idaho, on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home in Pocatello, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Assoc., 135 Parkinson Ave., Staten Island, NY 10305.
