Franklin Wheeler, 84, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Idaho State Veterans Home. He was born January 6, 1934 in Fort Hall, Idaho. He was the 2nd of 3 children of Chesaw and Ada Mink Wheeler. Franklin married Florence Igawanup Wheeler and they had no children. She passed away and was buried in Lincoln Creek. Franklin retired as an irrigation specialist with the BIA (Bureau of Indian affairs). He was a member of the Native American Church. His hobbies included hunting, going swimming at Lava Hot Springs, he liked gambling in Las Vegas and Wendover, Nevada, and he liked attending rodeos. He is survived by a niece, Utahana Papse Watson and a grand-niece, Kathiana Perry Eagle both of Ft. Hall, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bernice "Disney" Wheeler Papse; and a brother, Clifford Ray Wheeler. A gathering will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 11-12:30 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID. Franklin will then be taken to the Late Frank Papse Sr. Residence, Reservation & Laughran Rd. Fort Hall, Idaho , after the gathering at the funeral home, and burial will take place on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2 pm at the Ross Fork Cemetery.
