Frank Ervin Brunson, Jr.

Frank Ervin Brunson, 70, passed away on August 23, 2023, in Island Park, Idaho. Frank was born to Frank E. Brunson and Larue Clements Brunson on July 4, 1953, in Pocatello, Idaho. He was the 4th child of seven.

Frank spent his childhood running the streets of Pocatello where he attended Tendoy, Alameda, and Highland High School. In his teens he worked moving pipe in Fort Hall and summers working alongside his Grandpa Vern Morgan on the farm in Rigby, Idaho. He spent many winters with his dad, brother Phillip, and his sister Debbie on the Caribou Ski Hill where he also worked on the ski patrol. As an adult Frank worked for J.R. Simplot Don Plant from which he retired.

Frank married Vonda Joyce Wall on July 10, 1972, and they started their family in Pocatello, Idaho. Their daughter Cori Joyce was born on March 21, 1973, and son Casey Frank came soon after on March 25, 1975. Together they lived in Pocatello until September 1985 when they moved to McCammon, Idaho. They later divorced. Frank’s love of the country living inspired him to raise horses and cattle. You could also find him riding horses on the mountains surrounding Marsh Valley with his kids or running the desert in his Jeep taking his children on adventures.

Frank had a love of all things outdoors from camping, to fishing, to guns, to water skiing, to snow skiing, to motorcycles to buggy riding. Frank played hard. When he decided, he was going to do something, he went all in and he took his family along for the ride. The last three years were spent hunting, fishing, and camping with his son and daughter-in-law, daughter, and close companion, Suzie Heer. The week prior to his passing, Franks’s grandsons and granddaughter-in-law were able to join us for a weeklong camping trip full of buggy riding, a little fishing, and telling stories around the campfire. His granddaughter and her family were to join later that week.

Frank is survived by his daughter Cori (Shawn) Wolverton, son Casey (Shelley) Brunson, sister Debbie (Roy) Duke, grandsons Cole Brunson, Samuel (Allison) Brunson, granddaughter Chloe (Logan) Hill, and two great grandchildren Aurora & Lucy Hill. Frank was proceeded in death by his father and mother Frank and Larue Brunson, brothers Baby, Bobby, Darrell and Phillip Brunson, and sister Vickie Brunson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023 at his son’s home, 1336 S. Old Highway 91 Inkom, Idaho at 12:30 pm. We invite you all to come visit and share stories.
