Floyd Devore, 86, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2008 at a local long term care center. Floyd was born November 4, 1921 in Alberta, Canada the second son of seven children of Clell A. and Luella (Miller) Devore. Floyd grew up in Peoria, Illinois and attended schools there. He enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in WWII in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged January 4, 1946 from the Army and enlisted in the Navy and served in the Korean War and honorably discharged March 3, 1952. He married Norma Lund in 1955 in Minnesota. They were blessed with three sons, Mike, Patrick, and Jeffrey. Floyd enjoyed fishing, camping, playing pool and bowling. He was an outdoorsman who loved and enjoyed the out of doors. He is survived by his sons: Mike (Debbie Hughes) Devore, Pocatello, ID and Jeff Devore, Aberdeen, ID; a grandson, Devin Devore, Pocatello, ID; sisters, Carol Devore, Peoria, IL and Ruth Lundberg of Wisconsin; nephew, Leonard Devore and a sister-in-law, Irita Devore, both of Pocatello, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Patrick Devore. Per his request no services will be held but a private family service will be held at a later date.
