Ferrin Fisher

d. June 10, 2010

Ferrin Roberts Fisher, 77, died Wednesday, June 10, 2010 in the presence if his loving family. Ferrin was born May 27, 1933 in Smithfield, Utah to Glen and Sarah Fisher. He grew up on the family farm in Smithfield with his wonderful six sisters and two brothers. Ferrin enjoyed many things in life, but his biggest passion was his family. On March 31, 1961 he married the love of his life, Hildagarde Nielsen. Together they had nine children and twenty grandchildren. He loved being with his family, whether it was sitting around the campfire singing with his brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, children and wife or bouncing one of his grandbabies on his knee as he sang them a song from his past. Ferrin lived an amazing life in which he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, watching the Red Sox, and Celtics, and singing (with his powerful voice) whenever he had the chance. He also enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Island Park, and going on longs walks there with his wife. Ferrin served his church from 1954-1956 on an LDS mission in Bangor, Maine, he served his country from 1956-1958 in the Army at Fort Lewis, Washington, and he served his family for 77 years from 1933 to 2010. He will be fondly missed. Ferrin is survived by his loving wife Hildagarde, 3 daughters, Pauline, Lorianne, Jenny, 4 sons, Thayne, Todd, Scott, and Chad, 2 sisters, Dixie, Cheryl, a brother, Blaine, and 20 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, LaWanna, a son, Jace, a brother, Leon, and 4 sisters, Afton, Dorothy, Beverly and Velma. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Smithfield Cemetery, Smithfield, Utah. Arrangements are under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave., Pocatello. Condolences can be sent to the family online at www.Colonial-FuneralHome.com.
