Evert Redick Madsen, 82, of Inkom, Idaho, passed away August 9, 2017 at a local hospital. Evert is the son of Tennys and Chloe Nichols Madsen and was born and raised in Ephraim, UT, on November 20, 1934. He worked with the railroad for 38 years and retired with the Union Pacific Railroad. Evert married Sadie Leone Randall on October 12, 1962 in Preston, Idaho. Together they raised 6 children: Pauline, William, David, Daniel, Wayne, and Melanie. Evert was drafted into the US Army in 1953 and was honorably discharged after having served in the Korean War. Evert could fix anything. He was an avid sportsman who loved the outdoors, fishing, horses, and especially enjoyed hunting with his kids. Evert is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sadie Leone, Inkom, Idaho; children, Pauline (Doug) Jump, Wisconsin; William Madsen, Inkom; David (Brenda) Madsen, Inkom; Daniel (Rachel) Madsen, Malad; Wayne (Krystal) Madsen, Liberty, Utah; Melanie (Neil) Jensen, Round Mountain, Nevada; sister, Neva Jamison; brother, John Madsen; thirteen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and a sister. Evert loved his family and enjoyed frequent visits from his children and grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 from 6-7 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, ID. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 11 am at the Inkom LDS Church, 973 North Rapid Creek Rd, Inkom, ID 83245, with a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 am prior to the services. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow at the Inkom Cemetery.
