Everett Kissel

April 11, 1939 — August 14, 2023

Everett “Lyle” Kissel was born to Everett and Lauretta Kissel in Pocatello, ID on April 11, 1939. Lyle was the youngest of nine children, all of whom have preceded him in death. He died on August 14, 2023, surrounded by family in his home.


Lyle attended school in Inkom and graduated from Marsh Valley High School. He joined the Army in 1961 and served for two years. He then went to work at Simplot for 42 years.


Lyle married the love of his life, Bernadine Brillhart, on November 6, 1965. Two daughters were born to Lyle and Bernadine: Teresa (Lish) and Karen (Johnson).


He liked bowling in a league and took up golfing later in life. He had a 5th wheel in Mackay Idaho where he made a lot of good friends.


Lyle was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.


He is survived by his wife, Bernadine Kissel; daughters, Teresa (Dee) Lish and Karen (Todd) Johnson; grandsons, Wade (Kate) Miller, Troy (Lauren) Johnson, and Devin Lish; granddaughters, Danelle (Devin) Watkins and Annie (Will) Miller; 12 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.


Lyle is preceded in death by his parents, 8 siblings, three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.


There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 2-6 pm at the Purpose Center, 224 N. Union Pacific Avenue (back parking lot), Pocatello, ID.
