Evelyn Evans

d. July 14, 2012

Evelyn J. Cutler Evans, 93, of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Evelyn was born June 27, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the youngest of five children born to John Jensen and Isabel Laub. When Evelyn was about a year old, the family moved to Pocatello, Idaho, where she lived for essentially all of her life, graduating from Pocatello High School in 1937. On December 13, 1937, she married Edward Nattress. They had two children, David (Judy) Nattress and Diane (David) Ranniger. Eddy suffered from complications of diabetes and passed away October 25, 1952. The following year, Evelyn went on a blind date with Harold Cutler and they knew right away that the Lord had brought them together. Harold had been searching for her all of his life and Mom knew she had found the love of her life. They were married May 2, 1953 and four children followed: Keith (Vickie) Cutler, Karen (Bob) Larsen, Cresta (Jim) Fillmore, and Steven (Kim) Cutler. Harold struggled with heart problems for years and passed away March 25, 1970. A year later, on April 2, 1971, the family was sealed in the LDS temple at Idaho Falls. Mom always loved to cook and was known for the many delicious meals and treats she prepared. She served long and faithfully as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, fulfilling all of her callings with a smile (and a plate of cookies). After years of being single, Mom married Murray Evans September 25, 1982. They were both retired and enjoyed traveling and visiting relatives. Murray passed away August 28, 1988. Evelyn is survived by her 6 children, 23 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren. She loved all of them deeply and they were her greatest joy. She called them her treasures. She will be greatly missed, but we know that she is once again reunited with Harold and all of her family who passed before. She was preceded in death by her husbands, her sister and three brothers, and a beloved great-grandson. Funeral services will be held July 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Indian Hills LDS chapel at 5425 Bannock Highway, with a viewing July 19, 2012 at Colonial Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest next to Harold at Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.Colonial-FuneralHome.com.
