On August 8, 2020, Evelyn Ann Teton, also known as "Tooty" passed away at her home at the age of 76.
Evelyn was born in San Diego, California to John & Ruby Teton and was a member of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes of Fort Hall, Idaho. She was raised Catholic but was also a Sundancer. She attended school in San Diego, and graduated from The Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. After graduation she made her home in Fort Hall, Idaho.
Evelyn worked as a Head Start teacher's aide, and an accountant for the Tribal Enterprises, and was a professional artist skilled in oil painting. Evelyn enjoyed traveling, gardening, sewing, painting, drawing, taking care of her beloved grandchildren and going to the Casino.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents John & Ruby Teton, and her oldest sister Margaret Sue Teton-Robinson. She is survived by her three children, Yonnie Evening, Christopher Teton and Maryanne Teton; her sisters Nancy and Joanne Teton; her grandchildren Kolan Brunette, Shalene and Ember Appenay, Dean and Cain Murillo as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was laid to rest on August 10, 2020 in Lincoln Creek, Idaho surrounded by her family.
