Evan L Robinson

November 5, 1946 — April 10, 2025

Chubbuck

Evan Luther Robinson, 78, peacefully passed away at Grace Assisted Living in Chubbuck, Idaho, on April 10, 2025.

He was born on November 5, 1946, to Luther Robinson and Marion Smith Robinson, in Pocatello, Idaho, just one minute sooner than his twin sister, Evelyn.

Evan and Evelyn spent their growing up years together hunting and exploring around the mountainsides that surrounded their home. Evan once asked his dad to teach him how to milk the cows, and from that day forward, milking cows was his chore.

He attended Whittier Elementary School, Hawthorne Junior High School, and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1965.

Shortly after graduation, Evan joined the United States Air Force. Evan honorably served our country as a Fire Reserve Supervisor from October 19, 1966, to October 31, 1986. He spent time at Lackland Air Force Base; Duluth International Air Force Base; Clark Air Force Base in Luzan Island, Philippines; Grand Forks Air Force Base in Grand Forks, ND; U-Topio Air Force Base in Thailand; Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho; and finished out his career working with Area 51 out of Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada. During his military career, Evan also earned many awards, some of which are: Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with five oak leaf clusters, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with five oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Metal, Air Force Overseas Long Tour & Short Tour Ribbons, Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, and Joint Meritorious Unit Award. Evan took many courses to further his education while in the Air Force.

After retiring from the Air Force, Evan went to work for Pocatello School District 25 as the janitor for Tyhee Elementary School. He loved that school and those kids so much. Eventually, Evan worked his way up and was the supervisor for 20 years over the janitorial department.

Evan always found time to come home during deer hunting season. He also was heavily involved with planning the Robinson Family Reunion in American Falls for many, many years.

Evan was most proud of being someone who would silently serve others around him. Whether it were children who needed warm winter clothes, or neighbors who needed various provisions, Evan quietly served his community. Evan also wasn’t afraid to work alongside those he supervised. He might have seemed gruff and stern on the outside, but Evan truly had a heart of gold.

Evan moved to Grace Assisted Living in October of 2021. His gruff and stern side was replaced with charm and would constantly tease and entertain his caregivers who served him that he lovingly called “the girls.” Evan was always so grateful for their care, time, and attention to detail.

Evan is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his twin sister, Evelyn Robinson, his children Skye Robinson and David Robinson, and five grandchildren. Evan will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

A graveside service will be held for Evan on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Mountain View Cemetery (1520 S 5th Ave, Pocatello, ID 83205).
