Eva Rebecca Clinger Stoker Davidson, 89, passed peacefully from this life on a beautiful May afternoon, at a sons home in Sandy, Utah; surrounded by her loving family. Eva was born on 2 November, 1925, in Aberdeen, Idaho, to Mildred Pearle Johnston and Leland Dorius Clinger. She attended Aberdeen Schools and graduated in 1943. She also attended Albion Normal School and University of Idaho, where she met her first husband, Willard Max Stoker. Eva and Max were married in Columbus, Kansas, on March 2, 1945, where Max was stationed with the U.S. Army. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on September 18, 1946. Eva taught a year of school in Aberdeen while Max was stationed in Okinawa. Eva and Max lived in Spanish Fork and TOD Park in Utah before settling permanently in Aberdeen in 1950. They raised six children who all attended school in Aberdeen. Eva was always active in the LDS Church. She was a stay-at-home mother for several years, and then worked nights at the potato processing plant in Aberdeen. After 5 years working there, she decided to find other employment. Eva was hired to teach school in the fall of 1965 when her youngest son was in third grade. She also attended Idaho State University, starting in the fall of 1965, and took night and summer classes. She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in May of 1969, the same week her daughter graduated from high school. Max died of cancer in September of 1986 after 41 years of marriage. She lost a best friend, Shirlene Davidson, in May of 1998. Six months later, she married Shirlenes husband, Myrl, on November 28, 1998, in Idaho Falls, ID. A year later, Eva and Myrl filled an 18-month LDS mission in the New York, New York, Spanish-speaking mission Eva served in many positions in her Aberdeen LDS wards. Some of these include Guide Patrol leader, Primary teacher, Junior Sunday School Asst. Coordinator, as well as Relief Society visiting teacher and president, and ordinance worker at the IF Temple. Eva was preceded in death by Max, as well as her mother, Pearle Slaugh, sisters, Laurel Johnson and Marion Clinger, and her son, Mike Stoker. Survivors include her husband, Myrl, and her children: Steven (Peggy) Tempe, AZ; Mikes wife, Shauna, Sandy, UT; Rebecca (Sandy), David (Gloria) Chubbuck, ID; Dorian, Ogden, UT, and Paul (Debbie) Sandy, UT. She is the grandmother of Kimberly, Christy, Kristen, Jared, Brandon, Jeremy, Justin, Jeff, Jamie, Melanie, Ashley, Michelle, Devin, Bradley, Kara, Breanna, Krista, and Adam. She has 49 great-grandchildren. Her stepchildren are Kathy (Nelson), Denise (Sheldon), Brett (Kim), Douglas (Christy), and Russell (Morena). She has 14 step-grandchildren: Aaron, Heather, David, Jennifer, Dustin, Stephanie, Brittany, Michelle, Gregory. Daniel, Angela, Paul, Amanda, and Ellora, and 1 step- great grandchild, with 2 more expected. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters: LaVerne Pierce, Leland (Ila) Clinger, Thelys Bushman, Jackie (Don) Handy, Phil (Doreen)Slaugh, Lynn (Joe) Moyle, Dan Slaugh, and Laird (Nancy) Slaugh. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 12 Noon at the Aberdeen LDS Church, 149 W. Central Ave. Aberdeen, Idaho 83210 with a viewing from 10-11:30 AM prior to the service. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 6-8 PM also at the Aberdeen LDS Church. Burial will follow the service at the Aberdeen City Cemetery, 1948 South 2900 West Aberdeen, Idaho 83210.
