Eunice Babbitt

Eunice Jorgensen Babbitt passed away peacefully with family at her side on Sunday, 21 Jan 2018. She was born in Pocatello, Idaho to Francis Vernon Jorgensen and Rheva Hendricksen Jorgensen on 6 Jul 1931.

Eunice married Floyd LaVern Babbitt on 12 Aug 1948 and they were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on 9 Jun 1970. They are the parents of Connie Romriell (Pocatello), Carolyn Dustin (Idaho Falls), Bonnie Nelson (Pocatello), Cheryl Tilley (Pensacola, FL), and Richard Babbitt (Pocatello).

Eunice grew up and raised her family in the Pocatello area, and in 1982 she and Vern moved to Virgina, Idaho where she resided until her death. They developed a deep love for their many friends and neighbors there – especially the members of their cherished Virginia Ward. Eunice enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking, sewing and learning and she loved her family and dear friends. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings during her life ranging from Primary to Young Women to Relief Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Boyd and Don Jorgensen; and sisters, Melba Wilson, Eleanor Jorgensen, and Beverly Corum. She is survived by a brother, Gene Jorgensen, a sister, June Rumble, her children, 36 grandchildren and 87 great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Quinn Meadows, Encompass, and a sweet friend, Loretta, who looked in on her every day.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday January 24, 2018 at the Independence LDS Chapel, 4773 Independence, Chubbuck, ID, with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family under the "Tribute Wall" tab above.
