Esther Ann Vaughn was born in Pocatello, Idaho on September 22, 1936, to Ben and Eva Hottel. She has lived in California, North Carolina, and Idaho, but primarily resided in Pocatello, Idaho for most of her life.
Esther attended and graduated from Pocatello High School. She died in Fayetteville, North Carolina on January 14, 2023.
Esther married Thomas M. Vaughn on July 23, 1955. They were sealed in the temple on February 10, 1973.
Esther loved crocheting making blankets, dolls, and hats. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time outdoors with her family. She enjoyed watching her soap TV programs, especially days of our lives, and spending time with her sister, Mae.
Esther belonged to the TOPS club and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and she volunteered for humanitarian projects and at the local church food pantry.
Esther is survived by her daughter, Nancy Harmison of Pocatello, Idaho, son, Thomas B Vaughn (Laurie) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, daughter, Dinah L Wardlow (Robert) of Pocatello, Idaho, daughter, Anna M White (Ron) of Pocatello, Idaho; brother, Lester L Hottel of Nevada, brother, John Hottel of Arizona, sister, Chris Hill of Wisconsin, sister, Peggy Mielke of California; 29 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. Vaughn, parents, Eva and Ben Hottel, son, Arthur R Vaughn, sister, Mae Hitchcock, brother, Bill Hottel, brother, Ben Hottel, Jr., brother, Duane Hottel, and brother, Stephen Hottel.
Services will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 12 pm at Colonial Chapel, 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho with a viewing for one hour prior. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 2864 S. 5th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho 83204.
