CHUBBUCK - Othella Ervin Crane, 94, of Chubbuck, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at a local care center. He was born on July 13, 1916, in Soda Springs, Idaho, to Walter and Mary Crane. When he was three years old the family moved to Marion, Idaho, and during the depression moved to Pocatello when Ervin was in the 8 th grade. He was married to Verna Evelyn Nelson on June 27, 1938, in Pocatello, Idaho, and the marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on November 2, 1962. Ervin built and owned several different businesses including a shoe and repair shop, a service station, insurance sales, T.V. repairman, and mechanic, as well as working at I.S.U. He was a man of many talents. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Moose Lodge. Ervin held several callings as a High Priest in the church and served in several Bishoprics as Ward Clerk and as Stake Finance Clerk. Ervin enjoyed hunting, fishing, leather work, welding, and inventing. He is survived by his wife Evelyn Crane, daughter Evelyn M. (Jim) Wilson of Blackfoot, son Dexter E. (Delores) Crane of Inkom, daughter Tanna L. (Eugene) Fountain of Pocatello, son Barry N. (Wendy) Crane of Boise, daughter Chriss T. (Don) Lewis of Pocatello, daughter Mary E. (Rod) Sorensen of Pocatello, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Ervin is preceded in death by his son Randy Paul Crane, his parents, 6 brothers, and 3 sisters. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2010, at the 37 th LDS Ward Chapel on Old Hiway 91 North. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2010, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave, and also one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will follow at the Inkom Cemetery.
