Elsie S. Briggs

November 3, 1924 — February 21, 2020

Elsie Briggs, long time resident of Pocatello, peacefully passed away on February 21, 2020 of age-related causes at Caring Hearts Assisted Living facility. She is survived by her 3 children, Annette Selders, Larry Briggs, and Bruce Briggs as well as 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Elsie was the ninth of ten children, born in Malad, Idaho on November 3, 1924 to William and MaryAnn Stuart. From the beginning, Elsie had a loving heart and was adored by her parents and older brothers and sisters. Elsie successfully graduated from both Malad High School and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints seminary program. On April 5, 1944 she married the love of her life, Fenton Briggs, and shared 67 wonderful years of marriage before his passing on February 16, 2012.

Through the years, Elsie did a wonderful job balancing homemaking, church callings, work outside the home, and the needs of her husband and children, always putting their needs first.

She was and is an elegant lady who faithfully served her Heavenly Father, her family and her friends and we know she is enjoying a wonderful reunion with all those she loved and preceded her in death.

Family and Friends may pay their final respects at Wilks Funeral Home on the evening of February 26, 2020 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Elsie will be interred next to her beloved husband Fenton Briggs at 12:00 p.m. on February 27, 2020 in the Malad City Cemetery.

Memories and condolences may be shared with the family under the "Tribute Wall" tab above.
