Elsie May Lively, 84, passed away peacefully at her home after a short bout of cancer on May 27, 2024.
Elsie was a beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Elsie was born October 6, 1939, to Harvey Wills Dixon and Persis Alice Tinker Dixon in Wendell, Gooding County, Idaho. She was the youngest of five children.
On November 6, 1958, Elsie married Richard James Burns. Together they had three children, Annette Irene (Craig) Davis, Deborah Dee (Todd) Anderson and Richard Merrill (Dawn) Burns. They later divorced. Elsie then met the love of her life, James Gardner Lively and they were married on February 11, 1995. They were later sealed in the Las Vegas temple. This marriage brought two more sons into Elsie’s life; David Capell and Richard James Lively.
Elsie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She loved hunting with her husband and son, David, playing with her grandkids and going for rides with her nieces to Yellowstone.
She participated in band and graduated from Pocatello High School. She loved to sing.
Elsie is survived by her five children, 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Richard James Burns, and James Gardner Lively; son, Richard James Lively; three sisters, her brother, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the LDS Church on 1700 Kinghorn Rd. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2024 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W Chubbuck Rd, and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
