POCATELLO-Elma K. Olsen, 86, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at a Portneuf Medical Center from natural causes. She was born on July 29, 1926 in Cedron, Idaho to Robert and Sophia Mills (McMurdie) Kunz. Elma graduated from High School in Driggs, Idaho. She then moved to Swan Valley, Idaho and worked at a restaurant. She met Samuel L. Olsen at a winter carnival and married on February 28, 1946 and then moved to Driggs and then to Pocatello, ID where they resided. Samuel passed away in 2000, leaving them with 53 wonderful years together. As a homemaker she raised 4 daughters, and was a member of the Moose Lodge with her daughter, Cheryl. She also was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and enjoyed very much teaching primary. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, canning, sewing, quilting. She enjoyed bowling, both on singles and mixed double leagues, and won a city doubles tournament with her oldest daughter. She also enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. She enjoyed dancing with her husband. Elma enjoyed writing stories, poems, and reading books. In later years she loved playing Bingo and entering contests. She is survived by her daughters; Cheryl Olsen, Glenda (Gary) Hall and Vicki Olsen all of Pocatello, ID, and a daughter Deede (Sherwood) Williams of Scottsdale, AZ; and one sister Janiece (T. Mack) Bell of Tetonia, ID; five grandchildren, 16 great- grandchildren and 21/2 great-grand-children. Elma was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Nihla and husband Wesley Johnson, Laura and husband Ivan Kay; brothers, Leonard and wife Elvenia Kunz, Melvin and wife Reva Jean Kunz and an a unnamed infant daughter. Services for Elma will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 South 4th Avenue. There will be a visitation held also on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. prior to services. Burial will follow in the Driggs Cemetery, Driggs, Idaho .
