Elma Nadine (Johnson) Hymas, 87, passed peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
Nadine was born in Logan Utah, December 13, 1935 to Elma (Schenk) and Percy Johnson.
She married Jay R Hymas May 31, 1957. Nadine followed her husband with his work on the railroad. They moved so frequently that all three of their children were born in different states. They were finally able to settle in Bear Lake Idaho. After the passing of her husband, she moved back to Inkom, Idaho to be closer to her children. Nadine was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Nadine had a green thumb and was known to nurture and grow plants that others couldn’t. She loved canning her own fruits and vegetables. Nadine and Jay traveled in retirement to places like Alaska, Africa, and Hawaii. Her fudge is legendary and it has been known to change lives!
Nadine is survived by her children: Brian (Anita) Hymas, Mike (Alisa) Hymas, and Jana (Kory) Bauer; grandchildren: Zac Jelke, Aaron (Courtney) Hymas, Breauna Jelke, Vanessa Hymas, Blake (Alicia) Hymas, Ty (Allie) Jelke, and Randy Bauer; and great grandchildren: Lexie Leonard (Hymas), Sophie Nielson, Jason Leonard (Hymas), Phoebe Hymas and Zoey Nadine Hymas.
