Our beautiful baby girl Elizabeth Sierra Slater was born and passed away peacefully on the 28th of May, in the loving arms of her Mom and Dad surrounded by her family.
Although she did not live long a lifetime of love was shared in that brief moment. She gave us a sweet little smile before she was sang peacefully to her mortal sleep.
She was diagnosed with osteogenesis imperfecta in April 2016, also known as brittle bone disease. She was diagnosed with the most severe form of OI known as type II, which prevents the body from producing collagen, used in the production of bones, ligaments, and organs. Due to this condition her lungs did not develop well enough to support her body.
Elizabeth is survived by her Mom and Dad, Melanie and Nathan Slater, sisters, Samantha, Haley, Kassidy, and Brookelle; and her brothers, Rhett and Colton, who was her hero. She is also survived by her Grandparents, John and Bonnie Slaughter, and Marilyn (Richard) Lewis and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
The family will hold a viewing for friends and family on June 2nd from 6-8 PM at the Chubbuck 6th Ward building on the corner of Philbin and Siphon in Chubbuck, a second viewing for friends and family will be held in Roy, Utah at Myers Mortuary at 5865 S 1900 W on June 3rd from 9:30 to 11:00 AM.
