Elizabeth Mae Treasure Vaughan, 87, passed from this mortal life to her eternal home on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family in McCammon, Idaho. Liz was born November 22, 1934 in Preston, Idaho, the first daughter to David and Mae Evans Treasure.
Growing up on the treasure ranch west of Downey she attended elementary and high school there. While in high school, she met the love of her life, the handsome man from McCammon Rich Vaughan. They were married June 16, 1951 in Preston, Idaho. Their marriage of 71 years was later solemnized in the Logan LDS temple on May 4, 1964. All four of their children were sealed to them at that time for eternity.
As a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Liz taught Sunday school and mutual. Her favorite was helping teach the older mutual kids dancing. Liz and Rich could cut a rug with the best of them.
Raising their family in Downey, Liz worked at the IGA market. Later moving to McCammon, she began working at Howell’s Big Store. Raising 3 boys, a daughter and helping on the ranch took up every minute. Liz was a hard worker and loved to stay busy.
Liz and Rich started driving her dad to Yuma, Arizona for the winter months and decided that it was a good idea to spend their winters there too. She loved being in the warm weather, and traveled there until health and age made it a burden.
Liz is survived by her husband Rich; sisters Bonnie Judkins (Farrell), Debbie Treasure; brother Mark (Nancy) Treasure; sons Richard (Chris), Ronald (Jolene), Robert (Charlotte); daughter Kathy Dahlke (John); 12 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents David and Mae Treasure.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Norton Cemetery in McCammon.
