Elizabeth Annette Pancoast was born on March 31, 1943 to Ilean Odell and James C. Carter in Columbia, South Carolina. Annette, as she was enduringly called by her family, was raised in a small town outside of Columbia called Cayce. At the age of 14, the family moved to Jacksonville, Florida. There she attended Lakeshore Junior High and graduated from Nathan Bedford Forrest High School in 1964.
She cared immensely about people and chose a career as a CNA in one of the local Jacksonville hospitals. She worked as a CNA until she met and married the love of her life and partner of 50 years, Crocket "Paul" Pancoast. Together they raised two wonderful daughters; Melissa Pancoast of Jerome, ID and Paula Coverdale of Pocatello.
Elizabeth enjoyed and loved many things. She loved to sing, tell stories about her younger years, cook, bake and sew. But most of all she enjoyed being a military wife and mother.
The family would like to thank Encompass Home Health and Hospice as well as Gateway Transitional Care Center, for their kindness and wonderful care of our loving wife and mother.
She is survived by; husband, Crocket "Paul" Pancoast of Jerome, ID; daughters, Melissa Pancoast, of Jerome, Paula (Mark) Coverdale of Pocatello and one grandson Ethan.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ileane Odell (Oswald) Carter and father, James Cullen Carter.
