Elisabeth Pharris, 86, of Pocatello, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2010, at a local care center. She was born on December 4, 1923, in Mainz, Germany, just outside Frankfurt, Germany, on the Rhine River to Anton and Augusta Becker. She was the youngest of 2 sisters. She was raised in Schweinfurt, Germany, and trained as a bookkeeper. She would ride her bicycle to work as a store manager for the Nordsea Fish Market. She met her future husband, Theo Pharris, while working in Schweinfurt. Theo was stationed there with the 14th Armored Calvary from 1948 to 1952. Theo and Elisabeth were married on February 2, 1952, and returned to the United States in July of 1952. They raised two sons: William and Theo.
