Elfreida V. Denney

February 15, 1922 — January 28, 2011

POCATELLO - Our loving grandmother went for a closer walk with her Savior on January 28, 2011. She died at Portneuf Medical Center of complications with pneumonia. She was born February 15, 1922 in Painton, Missouri, to Nellie Blanche and Arvil Anderson Stephens. As a child she moved to Chicago, Illinois, finally her travels led her to Pocatello, Idaho. On May 12, 1949 she married the love of her live, Berle Harrison Denney. They were happily married for over 50 years. During those years they had two children, William and Berleen. She had a few jobs working as a food service worker at the Bannock Caf(c) inside Portneuf and at the old St. Anthony hospital, a line worker at Lamb Weston, and also a housekeeper at Holiday Inn. She enjoyed walks with her husband and family, and watching her grandchildren play sports. The last five years of her life she enjoyed going to Rocky Mountain Ministries for church services on Saturday night where she would clap her heart out to all the worship songs. She always tried to go to all church functions, some of which were cheering her daughter and two grandchildren during church softball. She is survived by one sister Marjorie Harlow. A daughter Berleen (Bill) Weir. A son William (DAnn) Denny. Seven grandchildren: Raelynn (Curtis) Stoddard, Wade Denney, Cassie (Shawn) Davis, and Carrie (James) Burke. Three great-grandchildren: Jarrod Denney, Ayden and Gunner Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents Arvil and Nellie Stephens. Three brothers: Marvin Lewis Stephens, Clinton Oneil Stephens, and William Lennis Stephens. Two sisters; Betty Nell Stephens and Anne Rose Thompson. One great-grandson Riley Shawn Davis. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at Restlawn Memorial Garden Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave, as well as one hour prior to the graveside service, also at Colonial Funeral Home.
