He grew up in Carmichael California and then moved with the family to Billings Montana in 1960. He graduated from Billings West High School in 1963. Eldon became an Officer in the Army in 1971. His military education included the Airborne School, US Army Infantry School, Officer’s Course, US Army Air Defense School, Officer Logistical School, USAREUR, Officers Advanced Course, US Army Air Defense School, Command and General Staff College, US Army Reserve Forces. Through his service in the Army and Army Reserves, he earned the high honor of Lt. Colonel in September 1993. He received many awards and medals for his hard work and dedication. In later years, he volunteered for the Army Veterans Honor Guard in Pocatello Idaho. He will be receiving Military Honors at his graveside service.

On June 22nd, 1967 he married Rosmary Reed in the Idaho Falls Temple. They were blessed with 6 children- Malinda, Josh, Troy, Jeff, David, and Stephanie. They later divorced in 1988.

Throughout his life, Eldon loved learning and staying up to date with current, local, and world events. He enjoyed reading the newspaper and books and doing crossword puzzles. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He would tell them stories, teach them games, and help with homework. Before his medical disabilities took over, dad used to jog, go on walks, and play racquetball.

In 1996 he had his first of many brain surgeries. Through all of these he showed his true strength and fought to be with his kids and grandkids. We are all so thankful for being able to have as many years as we did with our dad/grandpa/great grandpa.
