Elaine Stone Hatch

Elaine Stone Hatch, 56, passed on Sunday, March 29, 2015 from a brief illness.

Elaine was born on October 12, 1958 to Leonard and Lydia George Stone. Elaine was a lifelong resident of the Fort Hall Indian Reservation. She graduated from Blackfoot High School.

She held numerous jobs; among them she was a Community Health Representative Driver and was a First Responder for the Fort Hall Emergency Services for the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes. She also worked at the Fort Hall Trading Post.

Elaine married Clifford Steve Hatch and they were blessed with 19 years together.

She was a member of the Women's Golden Valley Rodeo Association and the Western States Rodeo Association. She traveled extensively, participating in rodeos mainly in the barrel racing event. She ran for the Miss Fort Hall Rodeo holding a first attendant and the Queen titles.

During her remaining years she traveled with her husband sightseeing, fishing and was a homemaker.

She is survived by sisters Lynn Stone, LouSandra Pubigee and a brother Doyle Bob Punkin all of Fort Hall. Also by her nephews and nieces: Enoch Edmo, Franklin Edmo, Marcine Medina, Marty Edmo, Kelly James. Grandchildren JessiRae Cruz, Kyle Capps, Tyler Edmo, Adora Capps, Emilio Martinez, Cole Edmo, Kessa Martinez, Teagan Plentywounds, Kallie Plentywounds and Ava Plentywounds, all of Fort Hall.

She is preceded in death by her husband Clifford Steve Hatch, her parents Leonard and Lydia George Stone, sisters Marcella Edmo and Virgilena LeClair, niece Allene Martinez, and a granddaughter Graci Plentywounds.

Funeral services will be held at 7 PM on Tues., March 31, 2015 at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Rd. A viewing and potluck meal will be held from 10 AM to 2 PM on Wed., April 1, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Gibson Cemetery.
