Elaine Rose Sabin

Elaine Rose Sabin, 77, of Boise, Idaho passed away peacefully from an extended illness on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016. She was surrounded by her family at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Chubbuck, Idaho.

Elaine was born Elaine Rose Wetzel on December 14th, 1938 in Boise, Idaho. She lived a short time as a child in Fruitland, Idaho and later graduated from Boise High School. As an adult, she worked as a comptroller for Boise-area automobile dealerships and later worked (and loved) her job with the Caldwell School District.

Elaine is survived by her children, Dalene Szymanski (Chubbuck, Idaho), David Phelps (Ontario, Oregon), two step-daughters, Wanda Phelps (Idaho City, Idaho) and Shirley Sterner (Boise, Idaho) and by her brother, Larry Wetzel (Boise, Idaho). She is also loved by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, and the love of her life. She was also preceded by a daughter, Dana Nelson, in 2014.

We will always remember Elaine's smile, her warmth, her energy, her zest for life, her passion for art, and her love for her family and friends. Her talent for oil painting stands as an incredible reminder for many of us. Elaine was also known for her hard work and the difference she made in many lives.

A celebration of life and a display of her art will be held in Elaine's honor on Saturday, February 13th, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Cloverdale Funeral Home 1200 N Cloverdale Rd, Boise, ID 83713
