Elaine Evelyn Beebe, 90, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2018, at a local care facility in Pocatello, Idaho.
Elaine was born on May 28, 1927, in Independence (Thornton), Idaho to Stephen and Evelyn (Jenkins) Spaulding. She was raised in the Rexburg area and graduated from Madison High School in 1945. She then moved to Pocatello and worked as a telephone operator for Mountain Bell. She met Dad on a blind date, and it lasted 68 years.
She married Harold F. "Bill" Beebe on June 8, 1947, Thornton, Idaho at her parent's home. They made Pocatello their home.
Elaine worked for Challenge Creamery and then as a secretary for the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Local 648 until she retired in 1987 after 22 years. After she retired, Harold and Elaine became snowbirds, spending the winters in Indio, California. They made many special friends during these years. They also traveled throughout the United States, spending eight months traveling in their motorhome though the Northern States to the Eastern Seashore, and returning through the Southern States. Bill was a Pearl Harbor Survivor and they never missed a 5-year reunion in Oahu, Hawaii. They loved taking their 10 grandchildren there when they graduated from High School. They also made several trips to Alaska with the Steven Beebe family. They traveled to Egypt, England, Greece, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, China, and Panama with family and friends. She loved life and thoroughly enjoyed her many hobbies that included boating, snow skiing, golfing, knitting, reading, bird watching (especially hummingbirds), cross-fit, and spending time with her family. Elaine dearly loved her cat, Muffins, and the dogs: Cindy, Freda, Lacey, and Ginger.
