Edward Patrick Maher, 97, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 5, 2018 in Pocatello, Idaho.
Edward was born in Kearny, New Jersey on September 1, 1921 to Edward Maher and Catharine O'Brien. He grew up in Harrison, New Jersey and graduated from St. Cecelia High School in 1940. After high school Edward served during World War II in the Army Air Corps as a waste gunner.
He married Blanche DeGennaro on January 7, 1986; they spent over 32 years together.
Edward was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
He is survived by; his wife, Blanche Maher of Pocatello; daughter, Joan (Dominick) Auletto of South Plainfield, NJ; son, Robert (Debbie) Maher of Seattle, WA; daughters, Denyce (Joseph) Bigley of Salmon, ID and Connie Utter of Brunswick, OH; sister, Catherine Williams of Nutley, NJ; 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by; a son, Edward Patrick Maher Jr.; grandson, Jason Auletto; and a son Alfred DiGiacomo.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 14th at Mulligan Funeral Home 331 Cleveland Avenue in Harrison, NJ. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 15th at Holy Cross Church 323 Harrison Avenue in Harrison, NJ.
Burial will be held in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair New Jersey.
