Edward James Girrard

PLEASE NOTE THE MILITARY HONORS LOCATION CHANGE Edward James Girrard, 82, passed away due to incidents related to an auto accident and was found on Thursday, October 5, 2017. He was born on September 5, 1935 to Lyman and Mabel Ann Girrard in McCammon, Idaho. Ed attended elementary school in McCammon, ID and high school in Salmon, ID. He was a life time resident of McCammon and Pocatello, ID. On December 5, 1961, he married Ethel Lee Vaughn. Out of high school, Ed spent 3 years in the U.S. Army, then working for a short time in Utah with a road construction company. Ed also worked for Cowboy Oil Co. in Pocatello and with the UPRR from 1961 until retirement. He belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the Loyal Order of Moose. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and watching sports. Ed is survived by his wife, Ethel Girrard, Pocatello, ID; sisters, Doris Romriell, Pocatello, ID, Jetta Smith, Pocatello, ID, Alice Parks, Caldwell, ID; brother, Les Jensen, Sweet Home, OR; daughter, Sherry Stover, Hanford, CA; step-son, Russell Mee, Pocatello, ID; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father, Lyman James Girrard; mother, Mabel Marcham; brothers, Lyman Girrard, Marlin Girrard, Lester Girrard, Ron Lewis; sister, Velma Denton; son, Bill Mee; and daughter, SueAnn Siaperas. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4 th Ave. Pocatello, ID, with Military Honors immediately following at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Norton Cemetery in McCammon.
