Edith Ann White

Edith Ann White, 86 passed away peacefully at home July 30, 2015.

Edith was born October 21, 1928 in the Sugar House area of Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of Christian Johann and Frances Davis De Visser. Her family moved to Manitoba, Canada in 1930 and they moved back to Salt Lake when she was 16 years old.

Edith married Edward Aitken White in Salt Lake in 1947. Over the years they called Ilion, NY; Westport, Massachusetts; and Pocatello, Idaho their home.

Edith was a dedicated member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and served as the Bonneville Elementary School PTA President. She enjoyed ceramics, knitting, crochet, sewing, and baking.

Edith is survived by her children, Janet Elaine (Jerry) Trubl, Idaho Falls, ID; Edith Ann (Ray) Glascock, Chehalis, WA; Cynthia Heather (Chris) Borer, Fairfax, VA; John Howard (Bonnie) White, Moses Lake, WA; Stewart Edward (Dee) White, Kalama, WA; Melissa Francine (Larry) Stahlberg, Bellingham, WA; Thomas Christian White, Pocatello, ID; three brothers, Lawrence De Visser, Pocatello, ID; Junior (Inga) De Visser, Murray, UT; Thomas (Wendy) Carlisle, Golden Valley, AZ; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Aitken White; parents, Christian and Frances De Visser; sister, Elaine Gertrude Ankrum; brothers, Beirl De Visser; Theran Carilisle; Donald Carlisle; brother-in-law, Raymond Ankrum; sisters-in-law, Carol De Visser; and Janice De Visser.

Graveside services for Edith will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 So. 5th Avenue, Pocatello, ID. Her funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road.
