Dwight E Jensen

December 25, 1942 — March 6, 2023

Dwight E Jensen, 80, passed away on March 6, 2023.

Dwight was born to Clint and Maxine Jensen on December 25, 1942, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was the second of nine children, and also the second to keep his mother in the hospital for Christmas. Dwight grew up on a farm with his family in Milo, Idaho where he learned how to put in a good, honest day’s work and enjoyed causing a little mischief now and then with his older brother.

The family moved to Rexburg, Idaho where Dwight met and married RaNae Simmons in February of 1960. He later became a construction worker and loved building roads across Idaho and surrounding states. Dwight took great pride in his work and was highly skilled in operating massive machinery. He loved every minute.

Later, Dwight moved his family to Pocatello Idaho and worked as a long-haul truck driver for Garrett Freightlines. Dwight and RaNae later divorced, and in 1975, Dwight started his own construction company, E&G Contractors, and returned to the work he loved. It was about then that Dwight found his other love, Sherilyn Barger Bohi. They were wed on June 27, 1975, and blended together their precious family that included 4, then eventually 5, cherished children.

Dwight loved hunting, fishing, camping, riding motorcycles and a good joke. He played his fair share in all those things during his wonderful lifetime. He was a good and cherished friend, husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and partner in mischief on occasion. He was the example of honesty and integrity and what it means to work hard. He kept his word when he gave it to someone and valued the time he had with everyone.

Dwight had a very strong testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ, and was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he lovingly served in many callings. He considered one of his greatest blessings to be on September 19, 1990, when he was sealed for all time and eternity to his beautiful wife Sherilyn in the Idaho Falls temple.

Dwight peacefully left his earthly home the evening of Monday, March 6th, 2023, surrounded by family. He will be missed greatly by his eternal companion, Sherilyn Jensen; children, Sheri Davies, Daniel Jensen, Charlette Glass, Jennifer Jenkins and Gary Jensen; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and countless extended family and friends. We are comforted by the knowledge that Dwight was welcomed into loving arms and a joyous reunion with his Heavenly family where he will wait for the loved ones he left here on earth to join him one day.
