The former things have passed away.Duane Singleton passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, February 5. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gerri, and two sons, Cary (Michelle) Singleton of Kuna, Idaho and Troy (Tonya) Singleton of Pocatello, Idaho. Duane has six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa (Curtis) Denny.His life was dedicated both to his God and to making people happy, which included a life-long career as a baker and his involvement in spiritually strengthening many congregations throughout the Western United States. He spent most of his days in deep personal study and meditation and visiting with his friends and family while holding hands and drinking coffee with his loving wife; these were the major joys of his life. His happiest moments were lived within these last years, as he was able to fulfill a life-long goal of spending a year as a full-time volunteer minister.There will be a happy, celebratory memorial service for Duane on Saturday, February 15th at 2:00 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1875 Cottage Ave, Pocatello officiated by Duane's life-long friend, neighbor, and pioneer partner, William Burling, and Duane's son, Troy Singleton.The family would like to offer a special thanks to Encompass Home Health and Hospice for making Duane and his family as comfortable as possible.
