Duane E. Kearn, 82, passed away peacefully at a local hospital surrounded by his family Sunday, April 29, 2012.
Duane was born February 11, 1930 in Union, Kansas to Lloyd and Verla (Hawkins) Kearn. He attended the local schools through the 10th Grade. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and eventually served as Corporal from 1947-1950.
Duane married Irene Racette on April 17, 1948 in Clyde, Kansas.
After discharge from the Air Force, Duane worked Highway Construction through many states in the western U.S. He retired from Parson's Construction as a Material Superintendent in 1990. Duane and Irene owned and operated DKar Wash in Chubbuck from 1984-1993.
Duane enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf and woodworking.
Duane is survived by his wife, Irene Kearn, Chubbuck; sons, Mark (DiAnn) Kearn, Pocatello; Kevin (Gaye) Kearn, Lyman, Wyoming; daughter, Jackie (Shane) Coffin, Pocatello; six grandchildren, Kent (Cassie) Kearn; Darci Kearn; Dani Whitfield; Kristana (Kelly) Webb; Jill (Nick) May; Shayna Monterrosas; five step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Verla Wasson; and father, Lloyd Kearn.
