Douglas Danji Taki, 55, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 21, 2017 in Pocatello, ID. Doug grew up in American Falls where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Tracy. After graduating from ISU, Doug devoted 25 years to the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes Fisheries and was the lead researcher on the sockeye salmon recovery project. Doug was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, experiencing many games with Tracy and Super Bowl games with his father. He enjoyed weekly rounds of golf and various tournaments with his golfing buddies. He also enjoyed Steelhead fishingboth with close friends and family. An Alaskan fishing trip with nephews was one of many highlights. He was preceded in death by his parents, Franci and Terry Taki, mother in law, Darlene Miller, and nephew, Terry. Doug is survived by his wife, Tracy; children Racheal, Ethan, and Kirsten (Zach); grandchildren Kai, Noah, Alice, and Olive; sisters Teri Lyn (Richard), Debi, and Heidi; nieces and nephews Chris, Aron, E.J., Antoinette, and Lydia; and father in law, Charlie Miller. A viewing will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017 from 6-7pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, ID. Funeral services will be at Grace Lutheran Church, 1350 Baldy Ave, Pocatello, ID on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 4:30 pm with a meal to follow.
