Douglas Harold Barber

Douglas Harold Barber, 62,returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday December 9th, due to complications from a sudden illness in Omaha, NE.

Doug was born on July 7, 1955 in Ogden Utah, to James and Janet Barber. They moved to San Jose California when he was 2 years old and was raised there until his Junior year in high school when he moved back to Utah to help on his grandparents farm. He graduated from Clearfield high in 1973. Doug served an LDS mission to Brussel, Belgium from 1974-1976.

He met the love of his life Renee Marie Comber and they were married in the Oakland California temple for time and all eternity on April 30,1977. Doug and Renee were blessed with 5 beautiful children who were born and raised in San Jose, California.

During his life, he was a very hard working man. He was an owner-operator for an air cargo company, machinist, financial district manager and worked in shipping/receiving.

Doug had a love for sports throughout his life. He really loved to coach all of his son's sports teams and umpiring pony league baseball. He had the opportunity to umpire at the world series games at Chicago's Wrigley field and Omaha's Rosenblatt. He also umpired high school, college and single A games. He refereed basketball & football but he LOVED to golf with his sons and grandsons the BEST!

Doug is survived by; his parents, Jim and Janet; his loving wife of 40 years, Renee; his 5 children Timothy(Joni), Chad (Heather), Shane (Katie), Jordan (Jodee) and Stephanie (Jake); 13 beautiful grandchildren; brother Dean (Allison); sisters Laurie and Julie.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 19th at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Road. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery in Pocatello. Condolences may be sent to the family online at wilksfuneralhome.com
