Dorothy L. Martin

Dorothy Louise Martin, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, January 18, 2015 at a local hospital.

Dorothy was born May 1, 1930 to Margaret Cline and Roy Steele in Arcadia, Nebraska. She was raised on a cattle ranch and received her education in a one-room school house.
Dorothy married Homer H. Martin on August 21, 1951. Together they raised a family with a strong work ethic.

Dorothy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She worked diligently with the March of Dimes for many years. She enjoyed horses, knitting, crocheting, NASCAR racing, and football (her favorite team was the Denver Broncos).She loved her family and they will dearly miss her.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, Richard Martin of Pocatello; Dean (Laurie) Martin of South Ogden, UT; Wayne (Julie) Martin of Pocatello; Robert (Chris) Martin of Pocatello; Sean (Cindy) Martin of Boise; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Martin; a son, Mark Martin; and a grandson, Danny Pratt.

Memorial services for Dorothy will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Canterbury LDS Ward Chapel, 4980 Whitaker Road, Chubbuck, with Bishop Robert Briscoe conducting. Her arrangements are under the care and direction of Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road.
