Dorothy J. Green

Dorothy Jean Larson Green, daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on April 29, 2017 in Pocatello, Idaho.

Dorothy was born March 19, 1926 to Christian George Larson and Marvilla Eva Bird Larson in St. Anthony, Idaho. She was one of 9 children. Dorothy's siblings included twin brothers Dean and Dale Larson, Gary Larson, Lois Smith (Les), Cecil Larson (Mary), and Elda Bakula (Joe). Brother Lowell Larson and Sister Karen Larson passed away as children. From this large family, Cecil, Lois and Elda are the surviving siblings. Dorothy grew up and attended school in St. Anthony and until she was 17 years old.

Dorothy married Don Evan Green on July 26, 1943 in Seattle, Washington. Shortly after they were married, Don was shipped out overseas during World War II and Dorothy moved to Pocatello. Even though Dorothy had many jobs off and on during her life, she was content being a wife and mother to her 8 children; Richard Evan Green (Murl), Alan Green, Connie Robson (Larry), Robert Wayne Green (Tracy), Randy Steven Green, Dale Michael Green (Sheri), Debbie Ann McCurry (Marty), and Jerry Lynn Green (Maureen). Dorothy also enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, sewing, and making quilts.

Dorothy is survived by her sons Richard Evan Green (Murl), of Blackfoot, ID, Don Alan Green of Boise, ID, Randy Steven Green of St. George, UT, Dale Michael Green (Sheri) of Seattle, WA, and Jerry Lynn Green (Maureen) of Pocatello, ID; daughters Connie Robson (Larry) of Pocatello, ID, and Debbie Ann McCurry (Marty) of Blackfoot, ID; 21 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Don Green; parents Christian George and Marvilla Larson; siblings Dean Larson, Dale Larson, Gary Larson Lowell Larson and Karen Larson; son Robert Wayne Green; daughter-in-law Pamela Green; and grandson Donny Green.

Funeral services for Dorothy will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 5, 2017 at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Her interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
