It was the neighborhood gathering place. They both had kind hearts and an open-door policy. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Pocatello Literary Club, YWCA, and the National Secretaries Association. After Rex passed on, she moved to Washington, Utah, in 1998 where she could grow her beautiful gardens year-round. There she married Max Sargent from Idaho Falls. They enjoyed nine years together before Max died, at which time she moved back to Pocatello to be "Grandma Great" to her family.
