Doris Mae Ranstrom, 85 of Pocatello, Idaho passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Brookdale Assisted Living. Doris was born September 28, 1932 to Margaret and Simeon Fell. She married Max Ranstrom on July 24, 1948. After the ceremony Max pushed Doris in a wheelbarrow through town and under the Center Street underpass and so began their journey of 63 years of marriage.
Together they had three daughters; Connie, Cindy, and Tammy. Doris worked for ISU Vo-tech coffee shop prior to retirement at Gem State Distributors.
She enjoyed spending time in her garden and yard. She and her husband played bingo, bowled, loved fishing and camping with family, went to horse races and traveled with her sisters. She was also active with the Silver Sage Riders. Doris hosted many family dinners which always included close friends.
Her special interests centered around supporting her grandchildren in their activities. Each child received a quilt that she made and she loved them dearly. She and her husband adopted three cocker spaniels that provided them with much entertainment. Doris always looked forward to Bible Study with her niece and nephew Jerry and Luman.
She is survived by: two daughters, Connie (Mike) Dubbe and Cindy (Brent) Taft; five grandchildren, Shelley (Mark) Huelsman, Daren (Tracie) Dubbe, Jennifer Wilhelm (Chris Nalley), Jeff Christensen Lourdes), and Jake Taft; four great-grandchildren, Hailey and Hunter Huelsman and Kylie and Kassidy Dubbe; another great-grandson is also expected in August; a sister, Donna Grooms; and several special nieces and nephews.
Doris was preceded in death by; her husband; a daughter; her parents; two sisters and a son-in-law. A special thank you to Brookdale and Encompass for the care of our Mother and a special thank you to Brandie Whiteside for the compassion she showed to Mom and our family.
