Our dear mother and grandmother, Doris Carmen Pratt, 100, passed away peacefully in her home May 24, 2017. She was born December 2, 1916 to loving parents, Walter "Lee" Hatfield and Myrtle Vera Reed Hatfield in Dayton, WA. Doris was blessed with an older sister, Rae, and a younger brother, Dean. She graduated from American Falls High school. On July 6, 1936 in Logan, UT, Doris married Lee Pratt. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 20, 1951. They were married for 47 years and blessed with 4 children; Gary, Niel, Dean and Myrtle "Ann". Doris worked as a stenographer until she got married. For many years she worked in the office of American Bulk Plant alongside her husband. For 8 years she worked as an Outreach and manager of the Aberdeen Senior Citizen Center. She belonged to the GFWC where she held various offices. From 1980-1982 she was Idaho State President of the GFWC. She was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many capacities. For 5 years, she taught early morning high school Seminary. In April 1976, she and Lee were called to serve a mission in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Doris loved to bake bread, photography, traveling and spending time with all of her family members. She is survived by her son, Gary Pratt, Aberdeen, ID; daughter, Myrtle "Ann" Eccher, Newton, KS; 30 grandchildren; 99 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lehi "Lee" Jones Pratt; sons, Niel Eugene Pratt, Darin Dean Pratt; sister, Rae Kessler; brother, Dean Hatfield; son-in-law, Robert "Buck" Eccher; and great-granddaughter, Breanna Jones. A viewing will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 6-8 pm at the Aberdeen LDS 2 nd Ward Chapel, 149 W. Central Ave. Aberdeen, ID 83210. Funeral services will be on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 11 am also at the Aberdeen Church, with a viewing for one hour prior. Burial will follow at the Aberdeen Cemetery.
