Donna Ruth Comber

Donna Ruth Jordan Comber, 83, Twin Falls, Idaho, returned home to her Heavenly Father Sunday, January 27, 2019, due to complications from a fall.

Donna was born August, 18, 1935 In Wilmar, Los Angeles, CA to George and Gladys Jordan. Donna grew up in Huntington Park, CA. While growing up she loved to dance and sing. She sang tenor in a madrigal group, and also sang backup to various singers including Gordon MacRae on one of his albums. While at a roller skating party, she met the love of her life Ronald Bruce Comber. They married November 22, 1953 and then were sealed in the Los Angeles temple on May 24, 1958. They had 4 wonderful children.

Donna was a stay at home mom, but during her lifetime she had 2 businesses. Her first was Donna's Cake Castle where she was a cake decorator and cake shop owner in Castle Rock, CO. Her second business was RND's Studios in San Jose, CA where she was a china painter and teacher of the art. Donna had 2 of her china art pieces chosen and displayed in the World Organization for China Painters museum in Oklahoma City, OK.

She loved to write stories, poems & plays, knit, make cards and work with the youth in church, girl scouts and campfire bluebirds. Donna was very proud of her accomplishments. Donna was known as Grandma Barbie, to her great grandchildren because of her extensive collection of Barbie dolls. She loved to see them play with her many different kinds of dolls. Donna was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many leadership positions that she truly loved. Her most favorite calling was to work as a supervisor in the Oakland Temple for 14 years with her husband Ron.

She is survived by her son Michael (Dee) Comber, NH, son Dennis (Millie) Comber, CA, daughter Renee' (Doug, deceased) Barber, ID, son George (Terri) Comber, UT; 17 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ron, Father George, Mother Gladys, Sister Delores, Brother Ray, Brother George and Son in Law Douglas Barber.

Graveside services for Donna will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2019 in the Mountain View Cemetery in Pocatello, ID. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family under the "Tribute Wall" tab above.
